Belly fat link to diabetes and heart diseasesIf you are #overweight in general it can pose health problems, but it is important to reduce #bellyfat because it is particularly dangerous when it comes to keeping your body healthy. In many developed countries obesity is becoming a serious health problem. Currently, 2 out of 3 Americans are classed as overweight and in the UK the statistics are 1 of out 3 people.

Why Should You Reduce Belly Fat?

Your main reason for wanting to reduce belly fat may be because of how you look, but the most important thing you need to think about is your health. If you want to reduce your risk of heart disease and diabetes, you need to focus on trimming your waistline to reduce belly fat. This type of fat can be detrimental to your long-term health.

When you reduce belly fat, you also reduce the risk for heart disease.  The health of the heart is effected by the fat around the your waistline. Healthcare providers often measure waist circumference as an indicator for possible health problems. You are more at risk for heart disease and diabetes if your waist is more than 100cm (39.5 inches).

Lower Your Risk Of Heart Disease And Diabetes.

Diabetes is a disease that causes insulin resistance. This can cause your blood sugar levels to be off. When that happens the blood is filled with glucose and other blood vessel clogging materials. As the vessels become more clogged, your risk for heart disease increases.

With heart disease comes the risk of a  stroke. Strokes are caused by the same factors that cause heart attacks and disease. A stroke is when blood vessels in the brain burst. This can cause severe damage to specific areas of the brain because they do not get any oxygen or nutrients.

And while you generally have to be 39 inches or over around the waist to develop diabetes, women should aim to keep their waists below 35 inches for other heart disease risk factors. When you reduce belly fat, you reduce your risk for these problems. You should especially be cautious when you have a family history of these problems.

By making some simple lifestyle changes you can improve your health. Look at improving your diet to reduce belly fat, getting more rest, and doing more exercise. These small changes will be worth the impact on your health.
